Restrict Access
Restricting access in eclass is a feature that allows you to set a release criteria so that students have to do something before something else is made available.
This is commonly used to keep students on track and not let them get too far ahead (date) or to limit their access to a certain set of resources (groups). In this video we will look at how restrictions can be set so that students have to open the syllabus before they are able to access the first topic.
As always, if you are interested in talking more about what eclass can do for you, let me know. dhbecker@edu.yorku.ca
The Journal
The Journal activity is a wildly popular formative assessment tool that instructors enjoy due to the speed at which you can grade and give feedback.
Adding a Grade Item
A grade item is a space where you can enter grades into the gradebook but without having anything handed in to you (no artifact to grade). This is particularly useful if you want to give a grade for participation/professionalism or some sort of performance, like a presentation.
Assignments Grading Part 1
In this video we take our first look at grading in eclass. We'll go over the simplest way of setting up an assignment, how to grade that assignment and how to add the weights column to the gradebook.
Making a Backup Copy of an Old Moodle Course
This is a quick how-to video covering the steps you can take to backup an old Moodle course. Backing up your old course produces a file that can only be opened in Moodle (or eclass). If you want any support concerning backing up or what to do with the file in order to open it in eclass, don't hesitate to contact me. dhbecker@edu.yorku.ca
The old Moodle environment can be found at this address until January 31, 2025
If you want to read the how to guide it can be found here.
