The Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) is hosting a series of webinars planned to demystify graduate studies at York University. Choose Grad York is a three-day lunch webinar series running from March 12 to March 14. Join a panel of staff, faculty and alumni to discover why York is the best school to help you reach beyond the confines of the university and make a difference in the world.

Grad Webinar: Navigating A Graduate Degree – Hosted by Dean Alice MacLachlan

In this practical webinar, future students can learn about the different parts of the degree process from course work to writing a thesis. Dean MacLachlan will be speaking on different degree types and providing tips on the most effective way to structure your graduate studies journey. The webinar will help outline the different milestones graduate students have to reach during their time at York and how to plan to graduate on time. Additionally, the panel will cover important resources that the university offers to students such as professional skill development opportunities and financial resources.
Grad Webinar: Demystifying Graduate Funding

Graduate funding packages can be a deciding factor for many students when choosing a program that fits their needs. In this useful session, participants will obtain a comprehensive in-depth look at how the funding package is broken down both for Master’s and PhD students. Additionally, participants can gain an understanding about two types of funding, funds that are granted and funds that are earned, as well as external and internal scholarship opportunities. The information presented in this webinar is general and can be applied across different programs.

From diversity in perspectives to numerous financial and personal resources, discover how York pushes the boundaries of graduate education from the perspective of students. In this session, alumni will discuss their life changing experiences at York University and address questions specific to international and domestic students as well as newcomers to Canada.
