Academic Affairs supports graduate studies at York in the broad areas of Academic Programs and Policies, Faculty Governance, Quality Assurance, and Graduate Supervision:
- Support for Faculty Council and its five Standing Committees (Academic Planning and Policy Committee, Petitions Committee, Appeals and Academic Honesty Committee, Awards Committee, Nominating Committee)
- Advice and support programs regarding curricular changes, new program development, cyclical reviews, and quality assurance processes
- Oversee and maintain records of faculty member appointments to graduate programs and supervisory eligibility
- Develop, interpret and implement Faculty, University and governmental policies, regulations and procedures
- Provide advice to graduate students and faculty on the Academic Honesty and Appeal processes
- Offer practical strategies and resources to help supervisors foster supportive, effective, and respectful relationships with their graduate students.
