Julia Richardson
Management

"Current management research suggests that internationally qualified professionals bring a wealth of knowledge to local labor markets, internationalize labour pools and can have a significant impact on local economies. Indeed, in Canada, it is expected that within the next few years all net labor force growth will come from immigration. Yet, despite this trend, many internationally qualified professionals are facing challenges when it comes to finding a suitable position and/or applying their international experience in the Canadian labour market. In order to address this issue, management scholars, corporate executives and government agencies in Canada have made support for internationally qualified professionals a priority."

Julia Richardson is Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour at York University. Her main research interests are internationally mobile professionals and specifically the impact of international mobility on career advancement and family relationships. She has also conducted several studies on changing work practices and the impact of flexible work arrangements on individual and organizational performance.
