Convocation and OCT membership

Applying to Graduate

BA Educational Studies students are required to apply for graduation through the Registrars Office.  There are three Apply to Graduate dates https://registrar.yorku.ca/graduation/apply

Bachelor of Education teaching certification

  • Concurrent BEd teacher candidates MUST apply to graduate from both (undergraduate and BEd) degree programs for the same convocation ceremony.  Concurrent BEd students may only see their Bachelor of Education record when requesting to graduate.  These students will also need to submit a request for degree audit of their undergraduate program.  The form to submit the request is https://registrar.yorku.ca/graduation/apply/forms .  Please note that the Concurrent Bachelor of Education degree is awarded at the same convocation ceremony as the undergraduate degree. If a Concurrent BEd teacher candidate completes degree requirements for one degree in time for June convocation but still has missing requirements for the other degree, they should not expect to convocate in June. Graduation for both degrees must be delayed until all degree requirements for both degrees have been satisfied.
  • Consecutive BEd teacher candidates do not have to apply to graduate.  The Office of Student Services will review the records for degree completion.

Graduating teacher candidates should submit their OCT registration number through the Mach form at https://eduforms.apps01.yorku.ca/machform/view.php?id=140387.
  2. Official transcripts: Candidates are responsible to request their official transcripts for their degree(s) be sent to OCT. Transcripts must have the notation that the degree(s) have been conferred. This can be specified when you order your transcripts. Please visit Order Transcripts Online | Registrar's Office | York UniversityThe Faculty of Education does not send transcripts.
