Overview
The Joyce and Fred Zemans Scholarship at York University will be awarded to one graduate student from each of the following three programs:
- The Graduate Program in Art History, with preference given to students in Canadian Art and/or Curatorial Studies;
- The Schulich School of Business' MBA program, with preference given to students specializing in Arts and Media Administration;
- The Osgoode Hall Law School's Graduate Program in Law, with preference given to students whose research focuses on Alternative Dispute Resolution or Access to Justice.
Value and Duration
- Up to 3 awards of up to $3,333
- The value and number of award(s) in any given year will depend on the rate of distribution from the endowment fund and the number of recipients selected
- Non-renewable
Eligibility
- Full-time registered Master's or doctoral York graduate student;
- Incoming and current student;
- Both domestic and international students are eligible;
- Must be from the following areas of study:
- The Graduate Program in Art History, with preference given to students in Canadian Art and/or Curatorial Studies;
- Schulich School of Business' MBA program, with preference given to students specializing in Arts and Media Administration;
- Osgoode Hall Law School's Graduate Program in Law, with preference given to students whose research focuses on Alternative Dispute Resolution or Access to Justice;
- Academic accomplishments.
Note: The student must be registered full-time for the term the nominations are due to FGS.
Deadlines
- Graduate program deadline: Program nomination, with complete documentation, is due to FGS by April 27. The Faculty of Graduate Studies Awards Committee will review nominees for eligibility.

How to Apply
- Students must apply through the Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships (FAAS) system.
GRADUATE PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITY
- The application process requires program nomination. Each eligible graduate student program will submit one nominee each for this scholarship
- students cannot apply directly to FGS. They must be nominated by their Graduate Program

- Letter of nomination from the Graduate Program Director
- Statement of Research (for Art History and Osgoode students only)
- CV
- Transcripts, unofficial or official, (supplied by graduate program from admissions file), or can be a student copy downloaded from the student account. Must include the last two years or all years of graduate studies
