B-REBEL COMMUNICATIONS is a unique arts and culture communications agency based out of Toronto and Montreal – we have remote offices in both cities. Founded in 2016 as a PR and Graphic design agency with a singular focus on the arts, B-REBEL is all about supporting arts and culture in Canada in unique and fun ways.
Arts PR is not your typical PR – it takes talented and passionate individuals who understand the arts and have a background in performance, film and music. In arts PR, you have to speak the language of artists to get results.
B-REBEL creates unique communications campaigns for each client, from grassroots performances to huge annual productions to film festivals to music. Each one is tailored specifically to the project – it takes patience, perseverance, and true passion. You’ve got to love it to promote it.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, produce, and distribute B_Rebel communications.
- Lead upgrades to the B-Rebel website as and when needed (working with wordpress).
- Manage B-Rebel social media accounts.
- Monitor and manage electronic communications (using Mailchimp).
- Write / edit / distribute press releases.
- Apply the communications lens to all related B-Rebel activities.
- Lead other projects as required.
- Create media reports.
- Manage interviews.
- itch events.
- Upkeep media lists.
- Research new media.
- Onsite interview coordination as required (in Toronto).
- Ability to attend opening nights of theatre / arts events.
- Evening and weekends as required.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Clear, strong, and persuasive written and oral communication skills.
- Strong design, graphics, and production skills using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop experience would be an asset).
- Strong website skills with experience managing an organizational or business website.
- Professional social media experience.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including comfort with spreadsheets.
- Excellent Zoom skills (experience with Zoom webinars would be an asset).
- Experience in or familiarity with the theatre sector or larger arts community.
