Urban Field Experience

This course involves students in work with an organization engaged in some aspect of urban development or administration. Students commit one day a week (or the equivalent) to projects defined by a public or private agency in or near Toronto. Each student’s work is supervised by a staff member of the agency and is monitored by the course director. This project should yield a product that both meets the agency’s requirements and is suitable for academic credit. Details of each student’s responsibilities will be arranged before the beginning of the academic year among the three parties involved: the student, the agency supervisor and the course director. Students who wish to enroll in this course must file an application form available from the Urban Studies Program Assistant and a resumé,
and will be interviewed by the Urban Studies coordinator. Students must be at the fourth-year Honours level. Urban Studies Program majors are given priority.
