Job Description:

TDT is seeking an enthusiastic and creative communicator to join the team for the 2023/24 season. Collaborating with the Communications Manager, you will be involved in website management, copywriting, online analytics, and social content creation to help promote shows and residencies while propelling TDT’s overall identity and vision through our messaging.

This is an exciting time to join the company as we enter a new season with an eclectic range of artist residencies, community events, and stage productions curated by TDT’s Artistic Director Andrew Tay. The Communications Assistant will have the opportunity to receive mentorship and gain first-hand experience in different facets of communications while contributing to TDT’s brand personality and artistic programming.

Responsibilities:

  • Updating content on TDT’s website. This includes copywriting, formatting photos, assisting with Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and ensuring the website remains AODA-compliant to maintain accessibility for all viewers.
  • Developing and scheduling social media content and marketing emails to help promote upcoming events and activities, along with curating non-promotional social media posts to reinforce TDT’s mission, values, and overall brand identity.
  • Auditing the current set-up of TDT’s Google Analytics and researching ways to improve how website data is being collected, interpreted, and applied to our online communication efforts.
  • Creating and maintaining registration pages for upcoming events and classes.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks related to your communication efforts when needed, such as updating contact records in TDT’s CRM database.
  • Other communication duties where needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with various social media channels and social advertising.
  • Website management experience is preferred (particularly with WordPress), but specific training will also be provided.
  • Strong organization and analytical skills.
  • Creative, critical thinking skills; completes tasks while keeping an eye on the overall brand identity and artistic programming.

Additional Assets:

  • A knowledge of InDesign, Photoshop, and/or Canva would be beneficial.
  • An interest in working in the arts and cultural sector; a passion for the performing arts and creative spaces.
  • Familiarity with Google Suite, including Google Analytics and Ads.
  • Experience using a CRM database or analyzing data is beneficial.
  • Experience participating in a communications campaign or promoting events.
