Kathleen Cherrington

Kathleen Cherrington (she/her) is a doctoral student in the Gender, Feminist, and Women’s Studies program at York University. Her research focuses on sexual technologies, feminist sex-tech theories, critical trafficking and sex work studies, feminized labour, gendered poverty, urban sexualities, and sexual rights. She majored in Sexuality Studies at York University for her BA 2018, and completed her MA in the Gender, Feminist, and Women’s Studies program from York University in 2020.

Kathleen is a member of two research clusters at the Centre for Feminist Research (CFR) at York University. One cluster focuses on Critical Femininities, and the other focuses on Critical Trafficking and Sex Work Studies. She has been published in the Archives of Sexual Behavior in 2022 and has presented her research at multiple national and international conferences. She works as a transcriber for York University’s Sexuality Studies Spotlight Podcast and is on the coordination team for the annual Critical Femininities Conferences, hosted by the CFR.
