Code of Conduct

This is an inclusive space.

In accordance with York University's values of Respect, Equity, Diversity and Inclusivity, Vanier College Productions is committed to ensuring that this space is free from discrimination and harassment as protected under York University's policies and the Ontario Human Rights Code. There is no tolerance for discriminatory or harassing behaviours.

Discrimination

Discrimination is unfair or differential treatment based on a protected ground under the Ontario Human Rights Code including the following:

  • Age
  • Religion (Creed)
  • Disability
  • Race
  • Gender expression
  • Sex
  • Gender identity
  • Sexual orientation

Harassment

Harassment includes behaviour(s) or comment(s) based on any of the protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code that puts down, insults, offends and/or stigmatizes an individual or group. This often leads to the creation of a hostile, toxic and fearful environment. Harassment can take many forms including but not limited to:

  • Indirect remarks or innuendo
  • Inappropriate physical contact
  • Unwanted sexual advances
  • Belittling speech about an individual or group
  • Stereotyping
  • Distasteful, scornful jokes
  • Isolation or shunning
  • Abusive insults
  • Threats or intimidation
  • Harm to or destruction of property
  • Physical attack
