The Writing Department's mandate is to help students become confident, articulate, and independent thinkers and writers. Writing is one of the most powerful tools in post-secondary education. It allows us to express, expand, communicate and clarify our thoughts. At York University, we recognize that good writing is important. To that end, the Writing Department helps develop students' critical thinking and writing skills to ensure their academic and professional success.
