Position Title: Communication Assistant
Working Site’s Location: Queensville, On

Company Bio:

Developmental services agency providing supported living and community based supports to adults with developmental disabilities and complex support needs.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communication Assistant will provide support with New Leaf’s social media, print resources, and other outreach activities.
The work can be flexed according to the particular skills and interests of the successful candidate – including opportunity for independent project work.
The position’s specific responsibilities can include but are not limited to:

  • Create and edit marketing and communication print materials and templates (e.g. brochures, letters; forms).
  • Assisting with managing and analysis of social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn).
  • Assisting with managing and updating New Leaf’s website and database (ShareVision).
  • Helping curate and develop creative and engaging digital and social media content to promote and support New Leaf’s efforts to engage and inform a broad range of stakeholders (e.g. individuals supported; family/loved ones; employees; community partners; donors; etc.)
  • Assisting with the execution and analysis of fundraising campaigns.
  • Training and education to New Leaf employees on communication and brand awareness.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing (or completed) post-secondary education, in the area of communications, marketing, or media studies.
  • Dynamic personality – strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with social media platforms and marketing strategies.
  • Experience with graphic design/video editing platforms to create, with confidence and speed, fresh and engaging marketing material that align with brand guidelines.
  • Able to work in a collaborative environment, with minimal direct supervision.
  • Quick learner and technologically adept.
  • Microsoft Office / Microsoft 365 proficiency and familiarity with (or willingness to learn) Adobe Creative Suite (or similar), WordPress, and Zoom / Microsoft Teams conferencing applications.
  • Dependable in ability to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.

Additional Assets:

  • Knowledge of video production, including familiarity with editing software.
  • Experience and knowledge of the non-profit sector.
  • Knowledge of developmental services and/or the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities / complex care needs.
