Individualized Study

The content of this course will be determined on an individual basis through consultation between student and professor and will be subject to departmental approval. The project must have thematic unity or involve intensive study of one particular area of interest. The duration of study and corresponding credit value of the course (3.00 or 6.00 credits) are to be agreed upon in consultation with the professor.

In addition to the rules regarding Independent Reading Courses as laid out in the undergraduate calendar, the following requirements apply: to be eligible to take an individualized study course, the student must have a cumulative GPA of 7.0 in their French Studies courses in the previous academic year. No student may take more than one individualized study course with the same professor. Typically, individualized studies are only authorized when the student cannot otherwise complete the requirements of their degree with the courses offered that year. For more information, please contact the Undergraduate Program Administrator.
