AP/PHIL4900 6.0 HONOURS SEMINAR

The focus of this course will vary from year to year. Please consult the philosophy supplemental calendar for further information.Prerequisites: Honours students in philosophy who have completed at least 18 credits in philosophy. This course is for 4th year philosophy honours majors only.

AP/PHIL4802 3.0 CORE PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY I

An advanced survey of some central themes in contemporary practical philosophy. The course is designed to ensure that students have sufficient background to pursue graduate-level research in these areas.Prerequisites:  At least 30 credits in philosophy (PHIL) and permission of the course director.

AP/PHIL4800 3.0 CORE THEORETICAL PHILOSOPHY I

This course offers an advanced survey of some central themes in contemporary theoretical philosophy. AP/PHIL4750 6.0 HONOURS THESIS IN COGNITIVE SCIENCE

Students carry out an individual piece of research in cognitive science in consultation with a thesis supervisor and write a thesis.Prerequisite: Permission of the course director.

AP/PHIL4500 3.0 TOPICS IN FEMINIST PHILOSOPHY

AP/PHIL4460 3.0 PHILOSOPHICAL LOGICAL

An intensive study of symbolic logic (including extensions of basic first order logic such as modal logic and dynamic logic) and its application to philosophical topics.Prerequisite: AP/PHIL 2100 3.00 with a grade of C+ or higher.

AP/PHIL4450 3.0 SEMINAR IN PHILOSOPHICAL LOGIC

An intensive examination of a selected area of philosophical logic. Topics will vary from year to year.Prerequisites: At least nine credits in philosophy, including AP/PHIL 2100 3.00.

AP/PHIL4400 3.0 SEMINAR IN PRAGMATISM

An intensive examination of one of more authors or topics from classical Pragmatism or contemporary Neo-Pragmatism.Prerequisite: At least nine credits in philosophy. Course credit exclusion: AP/PHIL 4400 3.00 (prior to Fall 2012).

AP/PHIL4351 3.0 SEMINAR IN LOGICAL TRUTH

A critical examination of the concept of logical truth in modern philosophy.Prerequisite: At least nine credits in philosophy including AP/PHIL 2100 3.00.

AP/PHIL4350 3.0 SEMINAR IN PHILOSOPHY OF LANGUAGE

An intensive examination of one or more topics in the philosophy of language. These topics will vary from year to year.Prerequisites: At least nine credits in philosophy including AP/PHIL 3200 3.00.
