Daniel Sailofsky is an assistant professor of Sport Management at York University. Dr. Sailofsky’s interdisciplinary academic background includes formal training in law, sport management, and sociology. His research interests include violence, gender, harm, and the political economy of sport, and he uses both qualitative and quantitative methods. He is the author of Playing Through Pain: The Violent Consequences of Capitalist Sport, published with University of North Carolina Press, and has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, chapters, reports and journalism.
Dr. Sailofsky has also worked in research and industry contexts with a variety of sport organizations including the Federation Interntionale de l’Automobile (FIA), World Athletics, Adidas, and the Canadian Olympic Committee, among others. He is also a former collegiate and university basketball coach, working as an assistant coach at Brock University, McGill University, and Champlain College St. Lambert.
