This unique professional certificate is designed for current York students and as a stand-alone program for former university students looking for HRM education. The program offers courses in organizational behaviour, human resource management, industrial relations, employment law, training and development, HR planning, compensation, labour economics and recruitment.
Through a mix of in-class lectures, online courses and case studies, you will be exposed to current issues in HR management. Our courses are approved by the Human Resources Professional Association (HRPA) and count as the academic component of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
This certificate can be pursued on a flexible schedule. Most courses are offered in the late afternoon (4-7pm) and evening (7-10pm), as well as online. If pursued on a full-time basis, the certificate may be completed over two terms.
Unlike other certificates offered by universities, colleges, and continuing studies schools, courses taken in the SHRM Certificate program are degree credit courses and can be used toward undergraduate degrees.
