Amanda Doobay

Amanda is a Director with the Ontario Public Service at the Ministry of Transportation, where she leads the development and implementation of transportation safety policy initiatives. Previously, she served as a Director with the Ministry of the Solicitor General, overseeing operational policy development and the administration of core business applications supporting the delivery of correctional services.

With more than 25 years of public sector experience, Amanda has led multidisciplinary teams and complex policy, program, and business transformation initiatives across several senior leadership roles. Throughout her career, she has championed improvements in policy design, service delivery, and organizational effectiveness. Her leadership is grounded in strong personal values and enriched by a lifelong commitment to learning, growth, and continuous improvement.

Amanda is an alumna of the 2015 Governor General’s Canadian Leadership Conference and currently serves as the Greater Toronto Area Regional Ontario Co-Chair for the program, where she helps shape leadership development programming with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Amanda holds a Master of Public Administration from Queen’s University and a Specialized Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Policy and Administration from York University. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to the School of Public Policy and Administration at York University, including her support of the Practicum in Public Administration course, guest lectures, and mentorship of students, she was named the 2025 Alumni of the Year Award recipient.
