Rate of Pay: $19.00 - $24.50
Hours: Fall/Winter Up to 15hrs/week Summer: Up to 35hrs/week

Job Purpose:
The Social Media and Marketing Assistant is responsible for creating student centric content for social media and marketing materials.
Job Duties:
Under the direction of a permanent staff member the Social Media & Marketing Assistant may be responsible for some or all the following tasks:
- Assist with the implementation of communications strategies.
- Create and format engaging content including promotions, newsletters, social media marketing and digital advertising materials.
- Ensure that content and materials adhere to brand standards and in accordance with marketing standards.
- Gather information on existing trends and conduct fact checking to support content pitch creation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and inter-departmental teams to support communication initiatives.
- Organize, shoot, and edit promotional videos and multimedia productions for publication on institutional accounts.
- Attend events and activities on or around campus for live social media coverage and filming.
- Provide monthly reporting on communications activities and related information.
Education and Skills:
- Must be enrolled as a York student
- Ability to creatively write content to engage an intended audience.
- Ability to meet deadlines and organize time effectively.
- Ability to pay attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to use social and digital media to effectively communicate or respond to others.
- Ability to use editing software and a variety of computer applications
- Ability to set up and operate video, photography, and other production equipment.
- Ability to use research methods to identify and verify information.
