Troy approaches teaching as if he is preparing the students to come work for him. He highlights real-world applications and pepper his lectures with actual examples from his work experience.

Troy is the CEO of Attractions Ontario, an industry relations group in the tourism sector, a role he has held since 2004. Other work experience includes roles as a Senior Policy Advisor for two different Provincial Cabinet Ministers, an elected official and a newspaper owner. He has taught ADMS 1010 since September 2005.
