Indira Somwaru, PhD, MBA, B.Ed., B.A., CHRP, is an award-winning educator and accomplished HR executive with over 35 years of leadership experience in both corporate and academic settings. Her career has spanned key sectors including healthcare, real estate, and publishing, where she led innovative HR initiatives, built inclusive cultures, and implemented strategic workforce programs. 

She teaches at leading institutions including the University of Toronto (CIRHR and Rotman), and York University (the School of Human Resource Management and the School of Administrative Studies) in undergraduate, graduate, and executive education programs. Passionate about student development, curriculum innovation, and inclusive learning environments, Indira continues to mentor future HR and business leaders across Canada. 

Outside of work, she enjoys travelling with family and fitness activities.
