Nathan Hyde

Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at the Town of Caledon

Nathan joined Caledon from the Town of Erin where he served as the CAO since early 2017. As CAO, Nathan managed the Town’s growth file including developing a plan for the community to double its urban population and negotiating a $180-million deal to build the largest public works project in the history of Wellington County. During his tenure with Erin, Nathan demonstrated a commitment to fiscal accountability and saving taxpayer dollars.

Prior to joining Erin, Nathan spent seven years working across Caledon’s partner municipalities in Peel, most notably as the Chief of Staff to the Chair at the Region of Peel. He served as the provincially-appointed Chair of the CTC Source Protection Committee, responsible for protecting drinking water sources across the GTA, including the Town of Caledon.

Nathan is one of only five CAOs in Canada to hold the international CAO designation ICMA-CM. He attended Harvard and Cambridge universities and holds multiple degrees including a Bachelor of Laws (LLB), Master of Laws (LLM) and Master of Public Administration (MPA). Nathan’s board experience includes Directorships with the Headwaters Health Care Centre, the Dufferin Board of Trade, the Public Affairs Association of Canada and the Ontario Professional Planners Institute.
