Join a Peer Mentor Program
Being a peer mentor is a great way to connect with other student leaders on-campus, and to support fellow students through various stages of their student journeys. Applications to be a peer mentor will open in late February/early March, group interviews will take place in late March/early April. All Peer Mentors will receive an honorarium. The commitment is for the whole academic year.

Student Leaders at Markham (SLAM)
Learn new leadership skills and prepare for your career through the SLAM program. Developing leadership experiences through hands-on activities and engagement opportunities both on and off campus.

Markham Student Council (MSC)

Welcome Desk
Have questions about life on campus, resources, and everything in between? Our Welcome Desk staff are trained to help you find what you’re looking for on campus, as well as refer you to events and programs that you might be interested in.

Multi-faith Space and Reflection Room
The Multi-faith and Reflection room offers a space for all York University community members for quiet prayers and introspection. This space welcomes students, faculty and staff of any faith or religious background.

The Indigenous Learning Circle, created in alignment with York University’s Indigenous Framework, is a space for relationship-building, ceremony, reflection, and learning grounded in respect and reciprocity. Open to all, it honours Indigenous knowledge, community, and ways of knowing.

Coming Soon! Metropia Student Success Desk
The Metropia Student Success Desk will be a space for conversation, community-building, and student support. Here, you can connect with peers, explore campus opportunities, and borrow free board games or equipment like ping pong and table tennis. Campus partners and student clubs will also table in this space to share programs, events, and resources available to you.
