Science is interdisciplinary. Honours Bachelor of Science is a customizable degree designed for students who want rigorous science education without specializing in their undergraduate years.
Build your course schedule across multiple disciplines and prepare for a broad spectrum of career opportunities and further education after graduating. If you decide you are instead interested in pursing a specialized major like Biology or Chemistry, you will also have the option to transition into another program.
Example First-Year Courses
In Science (BSc), you will work with you advisors to build an educational journey that's unique to you. In your first year, your studies will begin with broad foundational courses and then in upper years, you will narrow your focus on specific science education goals and interdisciplinary interests. When you meet with your academic advisors, you will be assisted in choosing the courses that best suit your goals.
Career Preparation
With an interdisciplinary focus and broad foundational knowledge, a Science (BSc) degree opens the door to many different career pathways or further education in a range of scientific disciplines, as well as in other fields such as arts and humanities. With advisors and professors committed to your success, this program allows you to build your own path.
Alongside support from the Faculty of Science, the York Univeristy Co-op and Career Centre offers services to students looking to enhance their career preparation with co-op and other experiential learning opportunities.
