York funds interdisciplinary research to advance SDGs

Through the Catalyzing Interdisciplinary Research Clusters (CIRC) program, York University has dedicated $4.05 million to support critical research that contributes to progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). “It is critical now more than ever for York to support novel interdisciplinary research collaborations that drive innovative solutions to these grand challenges,” says York President and Vice-Chancellor Rhonda Lenton. Seven projects have received $150,000 in funding over three years and another six were awarded $100,000 over two years. This research tackles topics from information and communications technology to clean technologies, epidemic response and recovery and infectious disease control.
