Peer Mentorship
Connect with friendly and knowledgeable upper-year students excited about helping you succeed in your first year! Peer Mentors can help you access university services, make friends and get involved, build your confidence and give you the inside scoop on life at York. Look for our Peer Mentors on campus in pink vests or in the Community Hub (VC001) for "Eat, Play, Chill" every Tuesday (12 p.m. - 3 p.m.) each week.

Are you a First Year Student in LA&PS? Are you looking for a break between classes? Join us for a fun, relaxed space just for LA&PS first-year students!

First-Year Experience eClass
Every time you log into eClass, take a moment to open the First Year Experience Course where you’ll find the First-Year Handbook, a complete guide to navigating your first year and a curated calendar of events. Don’t miss our Monday Morning Announcements, which help you start each week on the right foot!
LA&PS Life College Hub
Register for LA&PS Colleges events and find our FYE Peer Mentor meeting booking schedule.
Community Hub
Don’t know where to go in between classes? Hang out at the LA&PS Community Hub (VC 001). The Community Hub is a warm and welcoming space with microwaves, regular events, ample study space and it is a great place for group work or socializing.
Room VC 001 is open to students Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
How to Access the First-Year Experience eClass Site
All First-Year students in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS) are automatically enrolled in our First Year Experience eClass site. This site is packed with information to help you make a smooth transition into your studies.
Logging in
The first time you access eClass, you'll be prompted to confirm your email address before proceeding.
Find your course
At the top of the eClass site, click on My Courses to see all your courses including the First-Year Experience.
