Your First-Year Experience Program
FYE Welcome Events & Orientation
Our team helps you get familiar with all things York and forge your first friendships through welcome and orientation events, campus walk n’ talks, and virtual games hours. Join in and start your first term with ease!
FYE Peer Mentor Meetings
These highly informed upper-year students can answer your York-related questions! They’re eager to provide judgement-free support for everything from taking your first steps on campus to preparing for upper years of study. Virtual connections are available by drop-in or appointment.
FYE eClass
Every time you log into eClass, take a moment to open the First Year Experience course where your peer mentors have shared a complete guide to navigating York University and curate a calendar of events. Don’t miss the peer mentors’ Monday Morning Announcements, which help you start each week on the right foot!
FYE Info Table
Look for your Peer Mentors in pink vests outside of LA&PS Academic Advising (103 Central Square). They’re regularly giving out free snacks and sharing informative resources and tips to help you succeed in your first year!
FYE @ LA&PS Community Hub
Don’t know where to go in between classes? Check out the LA&PS Community Hub (VC 001 – just downstairs from the Vanier Lobby), a warm and welcoming space with free snacks, microwaves, games, crafts, Lego, and more! Study, hang out, and de-stress. While you’re there, get to know some peer mentors and college volunteers in pink vests.

Don’t miss our Halloween escape room, Valentine’s waffle brunch, winter and spring Exam Jams. Twice a term we’re focused on food-filled fun to help you de-stress and find the energy to keep going! You’ve got this! Maybe it’s even a little bit fun?

How to access the FYE eClass
How to Access the First Year Experience eClass Site
You'll need a Passport York username and password to login to eClass.
All First-Year students in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS) are automatically enrolled in our First Year Experience eClass site. This site is packed with information to help you make a smooth transition into your studies.
First time logging in?
The first time you access eClass, you'll be prompted to confirm your email address. Once you've entered your email, you will get an email to that address. Follow the instructions to confirm and receive announcements from eClass. You cannot pass the profile page until the confirmation link is clicked.
Find your course
On the top of the eClass site, you will see a couple of menu options. Click on the My courses text, this will take you to a new page with a list of all your courses on eClass that have been made available to you including the First Year Experience eClass site.
