Sonia Brar, Chief Technology Officer, City of Toronto

Sonia is the Chief Technology Officer for the City of Toronto. Sonia joined the City in June with 20 years experience in Customer Experience, Technology, Media and Telecommunications. Sonia is a visionary leader specializing in large-scale transformations, customer-centric digital enablement, and technology modernization.

Throughout her career, Sonia has also worked to support and develop diverse, equitable, and inclusive teams through various organizations and currently sits on the board of Women in Communications and Technology (WCT). In 2020, Sonia was recognized with the WCT's Innovator of the Year Leadership Excellence Award, which exemplifies leadership excellence and diversity in Canada’s innovation industries.
