How to Apply

The following is a summary of the admissions process to the Faculty of Science. For complete admissions details, please review the information on the York Future Students website.

Review the admissions requirements
Admission requirements vary based on your educational system and your province or country. Please review the Admissions Requirements section to determine whether you meet the requirements. We have included the major educational systems on our site. If you do not find your system, please review the York Future Students website.

Apply online through the Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC)
Visit the OUAC website and choose the correct application based on your situation: Ontario high school students should use Form 101; all other students use Form 105. Create an account, complete your application, pay the OUAC application fee.

Submit Required Documents
You might be required to submit additional documentation, such as transcripts, proof of language proficiency, etc.  Please review the document requirements on the York Future Students website. Please note, if you are currently studying in an Ontario High School your school will automatically submit your transcripts on your behalf.

Apply for Scholarships and Financial Aid
You will automatically be considered from certain admissions scholarships. However, there are other scholarships and financial aid programs that you will need to apply to. Each has a different application deadline. Review and apply here.

Review the status of your application regularly
The best way for you to keep current on the status of your application is to check your York University ‘MyFile’ account. Admission decisions are made on an ongoing basis. For applications for the Fall term, the majority of offers are made between February and early May.

Apply for Residence
At York, you apply for residence after you have accepted your offer of admission. Learn more about residence options and how to apply.
