Are you tired of struggling to find a study space at Scott Library? Are you looking to connect with upper-year students for advice? Would you like a space to socialize and engage in fun activities with peers?
Introducing LA&PS Colleges Community Hub!
Visit the Community Hub:
Where? Vanier College, Room 001 (Renaissance Room)
When? Wednesday – Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
The Community Hub is a hidden gem within LA&PS Colleges. Some of the resources available include:
- Student support resources
- Free snacks
- Lending library
- Coloring pages
- Board games, puzzles, Jenga, Lego, mini-foosball and much more.
Many academic and professional events hosted by LA&PS Colleges, such as the Pizza with Profs events have and will continue to take place in this space. Stay tuned for other pop-up events occurring in the Renaissance Room!
The Community Hub often follows a seasonal theme and there is always music playing.
The activities taking place on October 31st from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the VC 001 Renaissance Room include:
- Escape Room
- Scavenger Hunt Trick-or-Treat
- Halloween Storytelling
- Carnival Games
- Polaroid Photo Wall
- Halloween Movies
Peer Mentor Program
You may also meet Peer Mentors in the Hub (they're wearing pink shirts). Peer Mentors provide students with information and resources about the campus and student life within LA&PS. There are approximately 50 Peer Mentors involved in the program. Students interested in the program can drop in during open hours and complete an intake form in person to be matched with a Peer Mentor based on their preferences.
The Community Hub is also conveniently located near several other great study spots within the Colleges, most notably the Founders Junior Common Room FC 024E and the Arthur Haberman Room FC 023.
