SAS mourns the loss of Professor Peggy Ng

It is with deep sadness that the faculty and staff of the School of Administrative Studies (SAS) announce the passing of Peggy Ng, PhD, PStat, Professor of Applied Statistics and Decision Sciences on Saturday evening, May 4, 2019, after a long illness. She served with dedication as Director of SAS from July 2011 until October 2015 (when she stepped down because of her illness).

Professor Ng received her PhD in Preventive Medicine and Biostatistics from University of Toronto in 1990. She first joined the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at York University in 1996 as an Adjunct Associate Professor; she moved in 2000 to the then Atkinson Faculty of Liberal and Professional Studies as Associate Professor (50% with the School of Administrative Studies and 50% with the School of Analytic Studies and Information Technology). On July 1, 2001, she was appointed 100% with SAS.
