New Students
This fall the School of Administrative Studies is pleased to welcome 968 new students to campus. To kick things off, an informative orientation-related Q&A session with upper year students was held. Gurjot Singh, an upper year Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) student was eager to participate and support incoming first years.
“Managing my time was tough at first because no one was forcing me to stay on top of things,” said Singh. “I encourage you to get organized and set goals for yourself. That’s the key to success.”

New Administrative Officers
SAS is pleased to welcome Professor Nelson Waweru into his new role as School Director and Professor Cristóbal Sánchez-Rodríguez into his new role as Undergraduate Program Director.
“I am pleased to take on this new role within the school. Our faculty and staff are amazing and always available to offer support as you move through your academic journey at York University. I encourage you to always feel free to ask for guidance from anyone of us when you have any doubt” said Waweru.
New Advising Hours
Academic Advising hours are now back to the fall schedule; walk-ins are available on a first come first serve basis between 9:30 A.M. and 6:30 P.M. Monday to Thursday and between 10:00 A.M. and 3:30 P.M. on Fridays. For more details go to the Academic Advising webpage.
New College Activities
Get involved with New College this term starting with the Peer Mentor program. As a new York U student affiliated with New College, you are automatically enrolled in this program and paired with a Peer Mentor who is usually from the same program of study. Introductions happened before the first week of classes so check your my.yorku.ca email account.

Other ways to get involved with New College include taking advantage of the PASS program or joining one of the many student clubs.
