Disaster & Emergency Management Assistant Professor Evalyna Bogdan has co-authored a research paper, “A Serious Role-Playing Game as a Pedagogical Innovation to Strengthen Flood Resilience,” in IEEE Technology and Society Magazine.

According to the article’s abstract, it discusses how flooding, a global emergency concern, has “prompted the development of innovative approaches to flood resilience”, that include flood risk management. The article delves into how game-based learning on flooding can inform the complexity of flooding and enhance flood resilience.

Benefits of e2i program

Professor Bogdan was also mentioned in an article titled “Innovation not limited to STEM fields: e2i program supports transdisciplinary research”.

The article discusses the benefits of a research program, e2i, ran by the University of Calgary. Professor Bogdan, who was part of the program, developed a project, that lead to a presentation at the 2022 Inventures conference.
