The Flood Resilience Challenge Game

The Flood Resilience Challenge Game

Disaster & Emergency Management Assistant Professor Evalyna Bogdan is the co-designer of the Flood Resilience Challenge (FRC) Game, a serious game designed to engage business, government and community leaders in scenario-based planning for various types of flooding. Players assume different stakeholder roles, discuss flood risk management measures, and evaluate their past decisions to make informed future flood management plans.

On Nov. 6 in Cambridge, Ontario, developers, realty groups, NGOs, businesses, and City Councillor Sheri Roberts participated in the game together.

CIFAL York and Partners for Action at the University of Waterloo were involved with the organizing and training of game facilitators.
