Objective
We are pleased to inform you that the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) is launching Round 12 of the Ontario Research Fund-Research Excellence (ORF-RE) program.
ORF-RE Round 12 consists of two streams:
Stream 1: Basic and Applied Research
- Open to all research disciplines with priority given to the priority research areas
- Funds projects that demonstrate strong commercialization potential, where the innovation is at a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 1 or 2
Stream 2: Experimental Research
- Open to all research disciplines with priority given to the priority research areas
- Funds projects that demonstrate strong commercialization potential, where the innovation is at a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) of 3 or higher
- Requires collaboration with an Ontario-based company
Eligibility
Eligible institutions include Ontario's:
- universities
- colleges
- research hospitals
- non-profit research institutions
How to Apply
York University researchers are reminded that all applications for external research funding, including Letters of Intent, must be reviewed and approved by the Office of Research Services before they are submitted to the granting agency. For internal approval, the application must be accompanied by a completed ORS Checklist, which requires the Dean’s signature. Please send the complete application, with the finalized budget and a completed ORS checklist to sciapps@yorku.ca, five days prior to agency deadline.
