In this talk, the reasons why we need formation flying for spacecraft are explained first. Then, the dynamic model of formation flying is obtained by using the Newton's Second Law. By observing the solutions to the equations of motion, it is apparent that the feedback control is required to maintain the formation. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of control design. Finally, the future work on this topic is discussed.
