At the October 23, 2023 Humanities Department Meeting, the following statement was endorsed unanimously. 

In the spirit of analytical, critical and thoughtful conversations fostered by the Department of Humanities, the Department affirms unequivocally the academic freedom of all of its members, understanding academic freedom as defined in the Canadian Association of University Teachers' Policy Statement on Academic Freedom.
