Narratives of the Family in Modern Korea

This course gives a historical overview of family narratives in Korea from the end of the traditional period to the present. Materials covered include: traditional palace tales and poetic forms, early twentieth century short stories, contemporary fiction works by women authors, videos about folktales, recent films and clips from current Korean dramas.
