  • Annual blanket application submission window: 15 November to 31 January.

    • Students are encouraged to apply for positions across the university, considering their interests and areas of expertise
  • Doctoral students who are interested in being hired as a Course Director (“Ticket”) should meet the following requirements:
    • Preference for year 4 and above (terms 12-17) and within normal time limits (up to 18 terms) 
    • Be funded and full-time 
    • Have confirmation from their supervisor that they have met all degree requirements (e.g., Supervisory Committee, Proposal, Comprehensive Exams, if applicable) except the dissertation. The supervisor should confirm that work on the dissertation is making adequate progress. See Article 10.01.1(ii)(b) and 10.01.1(v) of the Collective Agreement (spelled out as a requirement for a course director ticket for potential candidates)

NOTE: Full-time students are eligible to be members of CUPE-1 or CUPE-3. They are not eligible for positions in CUPE-2. Please refer to the CUPE Collective Agreements for details.
