Marlon Reid is a leader in CIBC’s Personal and Business Banking strategic business unit, serving as a Community General Manager. Prior to this, Marlon Reid served as Director-Business Effectiveness, CIBC Commercial Banking and Wealth Management and as Designated Complaints Officer (DCO) for the bank. Previously, he worked at TD Securities in progressive roles. As Vice President, Global Counterparty Credit – Investment Banking, Marlon led a high performing function supporting Global Energy Markets, Asset Securitization and Commercial Paper businesses. His focus involved negotiation and deal execution of TD's energy origination transactions and various other over-the-counter derivative and capital market transactions. He served in leadership roles on TD Bank's Diversity Leadership effort and is currently co-lead of CIBC’s Black Employee Network.
Marlon is a tireless and committed leader and served as President of the Canadian Association of Urban Financial Professionals and chaired the organization’s Corporate Advisory Board. He received appointments to the AGO Next of the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Financial Services Advisory Board to the Rotman School of Management, served as Director on the Toronto Public Library Foundation Board and President of the Toronto Regional Council of the University of Ottawa. Marlon coached the Canadian team competing in the National Black MBA Association’s MBA Case Competition, and currently sits as Director and Treasurer for the 100 Strong Foundation Board.
Marlon holds an undergraduate commerce degree from York University, a law degree from University of Ottawa and a Master of Finance from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.
