An important message regarding the cancellation of all in-person exams

An important message regarding the cancellation of all in-person exams

The following is a message from York University Provost and Vice-President Academic Lisa Philipps to the University community. This message was issued on March 16:

To align with the Government of Canada community-based measures and in alignment with decisions made at other Ontario institutions to stop the community-based spread of the virus and stop large gatherings, York University is cancelling all in-person exams during the formal winter exam period of April 7 to 25.

Based on this decision students can leave the University. All students will be provided with options so they can complete their courses without having to return to our campuses this academic term.

It will take time to sort out the many details of this decision and further information will be forthcoming from the provost and deans regarding alternatives to all in-person exams as soon as possible.

We know this is a challenging time for all York University community members. Thank you for your patience and kindness as we work towards our common goal of completing our academic term.
