RLC Family Emergency Bursary
We know that these are unprecedented times. You are not alone if you are in need of immediate short-term financial relief because of lost wages, emergency travel or unexpected expenses.
Awarded to an undergraduate student in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies who is making progress toward their degree academically, and who is in need of emergency financial support to continue their studies at York University.

Application Details
The recipient must:
- be enrolled in the faculty of LA&PS
- be a domestic undergraduate student
- demonstrate financial need
- be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person
- be a resident of Ontario
- submit a statement outlining their personal and educational background
- complete the Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships (FAAS) Application for the current session before applying
- complete the application form
Preference will be given to students experiencing:
- Unforeseen extenuating circumstances
- Housing insecurity
- Food insecurity
- Loss of wages
- Urgent need for basic living necessities
NOTE: Due to limited funds, this bursary will not fund a student’s entire financial need. The maximum amount for this bursary is $500, with $500 only being given in extenuating circumstances. Due to limited financial resources, students can only receive this bursary once per academic year (e.g., September-April).
The RLC Family Emergency Bursary will be adjudicated at the end of each month during the fall and winter terms of the academic year.
