Emergency Funding for Students

LA&PS Emergency Bursaries

We know that these are unprecedented times. You are not alone if you are in need of immediate short-term financial relief because of lost wages, emergency travel or unexpected expenses due to COVID-19.

The LA&PS Emergency Bursary is administered by the Associate Dean, Students in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. This fund is positioned to help students who are experiencing financial need due to exceptional or unexpected circumstances. However, the LA&PS Emergency Bursary Fund is not positioned to help with major, ongoing expenses and is not intended for covering tuition fees.

Note: Due to limited funds, this bursary will not fund a student’s entire financial need. Both full and part-time students who meet the above criteria are eligible to apply.

Undergraduate Students

Typically, the maximum for this bursary is $1000, with $1000 only being given in extreme circumstances.

To be considered for funding, applicants must demonstrate financial need and have completed the Student Financial Profile (SFP) for the current session.

Graduate Students

Graduate students should apply for assistance through the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) Emergency Bursary.
