DARE Project: Conserving and Promoting Literary Translators’ Archives
Program(s) of Study: English
Project Supervisor: Agnes Whitfield

The many complexities surrounding translators’ archives generate a need for further research in this area of Translation Studies. Our project is addressing this need.

Project Description:

This project adopted an Action Research perspective to explore how Translation Studies and literary scholars could work in collaboration with archival institutions, professional associations and public broadcasters to collect, circulate, promote and conserve contemporary translators’ oral and written archives. The focus was on Canadian and international translators of a determined corpus of Canadian anglophone and francophone authors published since 1960.

The Dean’s Award for Research Excellence (DARE) - Undergraduate enables our students to meaningfully engage in research projects supervised by LA&PS faculty members. Find out more about DARE.
