General Education

General education courses approved for credit expose students to ways of knowing and fundamental ideas spanning the humanities, natural science and social science.

The French Café

Come hang out at The French Café where you can meet new people, practice your French-speaking skills and enjoy some free snacks.

Mathematics Equivalence for LA&PS

This non-credit course enables hopeful and current students the opportunity to learn about advanced functions, such as polynomial, rational, and logarithmic functions, as well as their properties and rates of change. Successful completion of this course allows applicants to meet 12U Math program requirements.

Nellie Library

The Nellie Langford Rowell Library is an inclusive, friendly, and safe space and resource for women-identifying and 2SLGBTQIA+ community members. Our diverse collection of books, periodicals and archival materials focus on women, feminism, the women’s movement, gender & women’s studies, anti-racism, sexuality studies, Indigenous studies and more

YUGSA

Dedicated to representing the interests of graduate students and advancing students’ and workers’ rights across and beyond campus, the York University Graduate Students’ Association also offers a health plan, advocacy, funding, event space, tax help and food support.

Graduate Students Award Opportunities

LA&PS supports graduate students with numerous awards to offset costs connected to research, travel to scholarly conferences or workshops, the public dissemination of research publications, completion of fieldwork for dissertations and more.
