DARE Project: Group Care Workers' Responses to Youth Violence and Delinquency in Group Homes: A Case Study from Ontario, Canada.
Program(s) of Study: Economics
Project Supervisor: Daniel Kikulwe

I hope this research will lead to a deeper understanding of how frontline group care workers respond to youth violence and delinquency, ultimately contributing to safer, more supportive group home environments.

Project Description:

The aim of this proposed research is to examine and generate knowledge on how group care workers respond to and manage violent or delinquent behavior among youth in group home care. Specifically, the study will focus on three types of behavior perpetrated by youth while in placement: (1) violence or delinquency directed at other youth, (2) violence or delinquency directed at staff, and (3) delinquency related to property damage or misuse.
