If I am unable to complete the required credits over the two terms, will I be able to complete my credit requirement before I progress to Year 2 of my program?

Yes, you will have the option to complete these credits before the second year of your program begins. Your academic advisor will guide you on your options.

Will I have a set schedule of credit courses for the first year or do I have to set my own timetable?

We will provide most of the schedule for you. With the guidance of your academic advisor, you may select electives, general education and other courses from the options provided for IYO. You must make sure the schedule of these electives fit in with your other mandatory courses. Please reach out to your academic advisor for assistance.

Which courses are mandatory in each term?

There will be a few courses defined as mandatory for you in your year 1. You must ensure you take these courses. Your faculty program advisor will help you in selecting these mandatory courses.

Is IYO available for all campuses?

No, IYO is currently available only for eligible faculties at the Keele campus.

Can I take IYO for any undergraduate program at York?

At this time, all programs in the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies, and the Faculty of Science are available for IYO. I was asked to attend an Academic Integrity workshop as a sanction. What is this?

The Academic Integrity workshop is a 1.5-hour workshop hosted by the York University Library. It is an online learning workshop. Following the workshop you are required to complete and pass an eClass competency quiz. An LA&PS Academic Honesty Coordinator will reach out to share registration information to the workshop as related to your sanction.

I received a decision letter for my case, when will I see my final grade?

We try to ensure that your final grade is posted as soon as possible following a resolution of your case, however during peak periods it can take 2-3 weeks for your final grade to be posted. If you need your grade expedited, contact an Academic Honesty Coordinator at lapshonesty@yorku.ca.
