Through our Study Meet program, you will have the opportunity to learn new academic learning skills and practice those skills with an International Student Success Ambassador and a PASS or SNACK Leader, while our Career Readiness program will help you create eye-catching resumes and cover letters that will help you get noticed by an employer!

Take advantage of the study meets designed for international students to study or do assignments in quiet or group spaces.

Our free Peer-Assisted Study Sessions, or PASS, are a proven effective strategy for helping you succeed in challenging courses.

Student Numeracy Assistance Centre at Keele (SNACK)

SNACK provides support to students in LA&PS courses that involve math, stats and Excel. Connect with a Peer Tutor to get the assistance you need.

How to Get A’s Study Meets

Take advantage of the themed study meets designed for international students to learn new strategies to help achieve academic success while receiving support from an International Student Success Ambassador.

Time Management

Date: January 18, 2024
Time: 1 - 3 p.m.  
Location: Virtual Session
 
Time management is a central skill in order to ensure that you are set up for success! Join us during this study meet to learn practical time management strategies and have the opportunity to work with one of our International Student Success Ambassadors to transfer your knowledge into practice.


ESL Café – Language & Culture

Date: January 25, 2024
Time: 12 - 1 p.m.  
Location: Virtual Session
 
How to improve your English-speaking skills for international students who have English as an additional language! This ESL Café session will provide key tips on academic English speaking and provide opportunities for practice through a combination of interactive large group and small group discussions. A resource sheet with practical tips will be provided to students for later reference.


Group Work

Date: February 1, 2024
Time: 1 - 3 p.m.  
Location: Virtual Session
 
Working in groups is an essential part of being a university student. It is also important for life beyond the classroom. Join us during this study meet to learn how to work collaboratively with peers within your classes. You will have the opportunity to work with an International Student Success Ambassador to put your knowledge into practice.


Preparing for Your Midterm Exams

Date: February 15, 2024
Time: 1 - 3 p.m.  
Location: Virtual Session
 
As midterm exams are approaching, so join us during this study meet to learn how to implement effective studying strategies to help prepare for your midterm exams! You will have an opportunity to work with an International Student Success Ambassador to put your knowledge into practice.


English as an Additional Language

Date: March 7, 2024
Time: 1 - 3 p.m.  
Location: Virtual Session
 
Join us during this Study Meet to practice your English-speaking skills! The ESL Open Learning Centre will provide tips and advice on how to practice your English skills, while you will get support from our International Student Success Ambassadors!


Writing Support

Date: March 21, 2024
Time: 1 - 3 p.m.  
Location: Virtual Session
 
Need extra support with your next writing assignment? Join us during this study meet to learn how to write an A+ assignment with the ESL Open Learning Centre. You will have an opportunity to work with one of our International Student Success Ambassadors who can help you get started on your assignments!


Preparing for Your Final Exams

Date: April 4, 2024
Time: 1 - 3 p.m.  
Location: Virtual Session
 
As final exams are now here, join us to learn how to prepare for your finals, from organization to preparation. You will have an opportunity to work with one of our International Student Success Ambassadors to help you get started on your exam preparation!

Study Meet Passport

As a part of the Study Meet program, you will get a virtual stamp for every attendance at a Study Meet. If you receive four virtual stamps, then you will be entered for a draw to win a York swag bag.

All passports must be submitted by April 5, 2024. You can review the Official Contest Rules and Regulations.
