Internal Grants
York Research Chairs
The internal competition for the 2019-2020 York Research Chairs (YRC) program has commenced. The YRC program offers both “Tier 1” and “Tier 2” chairs. In the case of Tier 2, there are two levels of chair.
Information pertaining to both the internal LA&PS and University-wide YRC competition and selection process, as well as application forms, can be found on the LA&PS Intranet site. Please login to YU-Link with your Passport York Account and paste in this URL to access the intranet site: https://yulink-new.yorku.ca/group/laps/york-research-chairs.
The LA&PS Research Intranet site contains complete information on the program, but please note these two important features of the program:
- Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion provisions:The Faculty-level (and university wide) YRC competition includes a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Therefore, the Dean strongly encourages participation and is committed to increasing representation from persons in the federally-recognized four designated groups (FDGs) – women, Aboriginal Peoples, persons with a disability, and members of visible minorities. To this end, the Faculty is committed to having faculty members from FDGs represent at least 50% of its nominees to VPRI.
- Early Career category added to Tier 2 (for researchers within five years of their first appointment).
To have your name considered for a YRC, you must submit the completed LA&PS application form, along with the full internal application materials (described within the form) to David Cuff, PhD, Director: Strategic Research & Partnerships (dcuff@yorku.ca) no later than 12 noon on August 26, 2019.
Please do not hesitate to follow up with David Cuff should you have any questions, or if you would like to meet to discuss your plans for an application. All the forms are available through the web address noted above, but applicants can also contact David Cuff for copies.
