As an incoming International Student in LA&PS, you may be feeling anxious, excited, or nervous about your first steps at York University. To get a head start on your experience here, you can participate in the Get Ready for Class program.
This pre-orientation program is designed to help you transition into your first year at York University academically, socially, and personally. It provides you with all the information you need to settle into student life and succeed at York University. As part of the program, you will participate in The University Experience: Preparation for Academic Success courses offered by Professor Natalie Neill. In addition, you will learn important information about your time here at York and make long-lasting friends and connections with other students, faculty, and staff.

Mingle with incoming students and meet the LA&PS International Student Success and Academic Support teams.
All attendees participating in the program will receive a $50 credit on their YU Card to subsidize the cost of moving in early (on or off campus).
Lunch and snacks will be provided throughout the program. You will also have an opportunity to win cool York University swag and prizes!

Why Participate?
The Get Ready for Class program will give you an opportunity to:
- Meet first-year professors and learn how to be successful in your courses;
- Tour Keele Campus and familiarize yourself with class locations;
- Learn how to get your YU Card and meet peer mentors;
- Learn how to use eClass, York University’s online platform, where you’ll find your coursework and;
- Participate in fun activities and make new friends!
How Do I Participate?
The Get Ready for Class program is free for all LA&PS students and will be held at the Keele Campus on the following dates and times:
Wednesday August 23, 2023- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Thursday August 24, 2023- 9 a.m. to 4 p.m
Space is limited, please register by August 7th, 2023.
